Myofascial Release Therapy
What is Fascia?
Fascia is a non-linear, continuous web of connective tissue that weaves around and throughout every single muscle, bone, organ, blood vessel, nerve, and cell in the body. The fascial system gives support and stability, yet allows for flexibility and motion. This tough connective tissue acts as a shock absorber in the body.
What is Myofascial Release Therapy (MFR)?
MFR is a gentle form of bodywork that applies sustained pressure into myofascial restrictions to eliminate pain, restore range of motion, and improve function. It is especially effective when other treatment modalities have only provided temporary relief. MFR is a profound form of bodywork that treats the entire mind/body complex.

When physical and/or emotional trauma occurs, your connective tissue shortens and hardens. This eventually results in structural and postural misalignments, causing pain and limitations in your ability to move freely. The pain and limitation you are experiencing are due to your fascia clamping down on and compressing sensitive structures giving you what is called a “symptom”.

Myofascial release stretching techniques take the pressure out of your entire system, rather than just addressing the focal point of your symptom. MFR restores connective tissue, and frees you from limitation and pain, so you can return to the active and expansive lifestyle you deserve.
