Yin Yoga

Rebecca Rizzuto, Seva Living, Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a gentle and relatively passive style of yoga that involves variations of seated and supine poses, targeted to stretch and release connective tissue around the joints of the body, primarily of the knees, pelvis, sacrum and spine. Poses are typically held for 3-7 minutes, accessing and releasing deep layers of fascia that are neglected within  conventional stretching exercises.

These one on one classes are tailored to your needs and are intended for you to develop a home based practice that will keep you feeling more open, grounded, and at ease in your body. A daily practice, ranging anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes a day, will keep you feeling empowered and strong.

Yin yoga is an ideal self care practice, especially when combined with Myofascial Release Therapy. Both modalities release and restore restricted connective tissue and unravel the holding pattern in your system.
